Keynote Speech (Feng Shui Today - A Fusion of Traditional and Modern Practices)

Lillian Too

Feng Shui is emerging in its popularity in most parts of the world in recent years. This year’s keynote speech by Lillian Too will highlight the theme of this year’s convention: the fusion of traditional and modern aspects in current Feng Shui practices. How can this ancient Chinese science be applied into our modern lifestyle; being universal yet still maintaining its classical roots and principles?

Session 1 World Forecast for 2010 (Chinese Session with English Translation)
Grand Master Tan Khoon Yong

Since 2004, Grand Master Tan has been representing Singapore to participate in the International Feng Shui Convention and shared on his knowledge of the converging and diverging theories of different Feng Shui schools of thought. This year, he shall take a bold approach and present the 2010 forecast he has made for various countries. Monthly global forecast concerning aspects such as health, economic, weather and relationship will be included in his presentation as well. Through his sharing, attendees can expect to marvel at the optimistic direction and prospects that Feng Shui is embarking upon as an international practice and faith.

Session 2 Popular Feng Shui versus Academic Feng Shui (English Session)
Lillian Too & Vincent Koh

The study of Feng Shui is a comprehensive process consisting of complex analysis and calculation that requires a properly structured education and accreditation. At the same time, modern day Feng Shui also requires a practical approach; adaptable and appropriate for everyone from all walks of life. Lillian Too and Vincent Koh will share the key aspects of their successful approach, popular and academic Feng Shui respectively, the underlying aspects behind each practice and how both can contribute to the growth of Feng Shui worldwide.

Session 3 Qi Men Dun Jia (Chinese Session with English Translation)
Master Wang Xiao He

Being noted for his expertise in the subject of Qi Men Dun Jia, Master Wang Xiao He will be giving a detailed presentation, which includes the history and uses of Qi Men Dun Jia. Through a case study, he will be explaining on how this subject is related to the art of Feng Shui.

Session 4 Four Pillars & Feng Shui CSI (English Session)
Grand Master Raymond Lo

The enthusiasm to study metaphysical subjects is often driven by the desire to find the truth behind many mysteries of life. There have been numerous unresolved cases surrounding the deaths or controversy of celebrities such as Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe, David Carradine, Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Lee or even Nina Wang that remains as deep mysteries. Through many years of study and research, Grand Master Lo believes that Four Pillars of Destiny and Feng Shui can be reliable witness to what really happened at time zero, as these tools will objectively show the presence of elements at the moment when the event occurred. This present will attempt to explore the possibility of shedding light on some of the famous mysteries, revealing some of the positive skills that can be employed in Crime Scene Investigation.

Session 5 Face Reading & Feng Shui (English Session)
Lillian Pearl Bridges

Face Reading is an ancient Chinese Science that was used for medical diagnosis and reading personality for business, matchmaking, fortune telling and Feng Shui. The face reveals numerous signs that are very useful for Feng Shui practitioners to use to understand their clients and their needs better. In this presentation, participants will learn how to categorize their clients according to the five elements as seen from the features of their faces. Also learnt would be that the clients’ emotional needs and issues are recognizable from their facial markings. Additionally, learning to read the ‘shen’ of the skin can help practitioners to determine appropriate color choices and assist in finding the best objects for personalized Feng Shui cures. Special attention will be paid to the health indicators of the face and suggestions for appropriate Feng Shui remedies will be offered according to the medical conditions and the personality profile.

Panel Discussion 1 Medicine with Martial Arts & Feng Shui (English Session)
Lillian Bridges, Jacek Kryg, Juliana Abram, Dr Mauro Rahardjo and GM Yap Cheng Hai
Moderator: Vincent Koh

In learning any of the Chinese metaphysic branch such as Feng Shui, one should be aware of the interconnecting link of each subject in the Five Arts study. This panel session will present various masters of metaphysics study: from Marshal Art guru, Chinese medicine expert, to Feng Shui architects. The discussion will highlight the strong connection of each practice, and how they can be combined and coordinated together to achieve the maximum result of increasing one’s well being.

Session 6 Critical Wisdom: Cosmic Trinity & the Complete Set of Theories for Feng Shui Systems (English Session)
Mas Kehardtham

Many Feng Shui masters and practitioners nowadays mix various Feng Shui schools and systems like a Sunday smorgasbord. It is very common to see practitioners use Bazhai and/or Flying Stars to do a Feng Shui audit of a house and use BaZi or the 4 Pillars of Destiny to divine the residents. If at all, the same Feng Shui consultant may use daily constellations from the Chinese almanac to select an auspicious date to activate the Feng Shui application and at the same time use the symbolic stars to choose an auspicious hour. This assorted mixture of schools and systems applied is one of the reasons why their clients have uncertain results after doing all the Feng Shui enhancements. Actually, all of the existing Feng Shui schools have their own complete systems of study governing all facets of the cosmic trinity namely heaven, man and earth, which should be applied as a whole and never mixed up. The Eight Mansions, Flying Stars, Xuan Kong Da Gua, 4 Pillars and 28 constellations have their own complete systems of the date selection method for predicting a person’s fortune and they also have their own Feng Shui arrangement method! Master Mas will shed light on the principle of the cosmic trinity which is the core foundation of all complete systems of Chinese metaphysical study.

Session 7 Mahabote (English Session)
San-Zarni Bo

Mahabote is an astrological system originated from the monasteries of ancient Myanmar and has been in use for centuries. It is based on the Planets and the days of the week. A three-by-three matrix chart is used and only the Day of the Week and the Year in which the person is born is needed to erect the Mahabote chart. Details of how the charts are constructed will be discussed. Among other things, applications of Mahabote include selection of auspicious days and dates, analysis of a person’s character, remedies and cures. These will be illustrated. Mahabote is considered as an essential basic for those who want to pursue advanced Burmese astrological predictions.

Session 8 Correlativity: A New Branch of Zi Wei Dou Shu (English Session)
Dr Hew Yon Long

Zi Wei Dou Shu is a form of fortune-telling in Chinese culture. It remains one of the most well respected processes for mapping out one’s “Destiny Path.” Zi Wei literally means “purple wave,” the Polaris, the symbol of power and dignity according to Chinese. Dou literally means the Plough, the Great Bear Seven Stars, the symbol of cluster stars. Shu literally means mathematical system. Zi Wei Dou Shu thus means the study of a person’s life based on the location of Zi Wei Star and the movement of 100 plus stars at the specific time the person was born. The life and death of a star as well as the movement is controlled by four forces. They are: Strong Nuclear Force, Electromagnetic Force, Gravitational Force, and Weak Nuclear force. Hence, four forces play an important role in determining one’s destiny with respect to time.

Session 9 Indian Vaastu (English Session)
S.BS Surendran

Vaastu is an ancient architectural science that balances the five elements in any environment bringing maximum productivity and success. Vaastu Science or quite often referred to as 'Vaastu Shastra' is an ancient 'Dwelling Science' from India. It’s a science of a higher dimension which integrates the all pervading cosmic energy to ensure that structures built in accordance to the principles of Vaastu are in harmony with the immediate surroundings and the Universe as a whole. Vaastu and “Feng Shui” is something much spoken about and skeptics pass it off as a faith following an unscientific practice. Culturally they originate from two different backgrounds, however a deeper study of both the sciences reveal that there are many common factors between the two sciences and in fact, share a common goal – ‘To harmonize your place of dwelling and make it more vibrant’. The presentation would give you an insight into the Vedic Vaastu tenets and its relevance, types of energies and its influence on human beings, Bio-energetics and semblance of Vaastu and Feng Shui.

Session 10 Modern Tools for the Traditional Art of Feng Shui (English Session)
Yap Boh Chu

The traditional art of Feng Shui has a long and ancient history. From its first recorded history of over 2000 years ago, the practice has constantly evolved, adopted and incorporated new findings and tools. The greatest of these tools is the adoption of the magnetic compass. This has evolved from just a compass to the modern luopan which is an essential tool for Feng Shui practitioners today. In these modern times with its many technological advances, the repertoire of tools that are available to the Feng Shui practitioner is quite extensive and only limited to the imagination of the user. We will explore what are these tools and how they can be used in the day to day practice of the Feng Shui practitioner.

Lillian Too, GM Raymond Lo, GM Tan Khoon Yong and GM Yap Cheng Hai
